While the southern provinces saw the relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions months ago, the people of the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Nunavik remained under fairly strict public health orders until mid-March 2022, a full two years from the beginning of the pandemic. Varying from place to place, churches in the NWT have been able to gather and sing since last fall, while most of the others in the diocese have had their buildings shut down for months on end.
In many ways it has been a dark time. Yet, as promised in scripture, the Light of the Risen Christ pierces the deepest darkness and gloom!
In this edition you’ll read of amazing opportunites the people of the Arctic have found to bask in that light of Christ, even if it means completely reimagining what it means to support one another. You’ll read creative solutions, as clergy and lay leaders turn to local radio to preach the Gospel to a wider audience than ever before. And you’ll catch a vision for how we can shine that Light of Christ even brighter and wider than we have before, when we work together and offer ourselves to the Lord’s service.
Alleluia! Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia!
