Faithful Mission Partners Wanted!

Dear Readers in the South: Faithful Mission Partners Wanted!

A healthy church is aware that it doesn’t exist in isolation. We are part of the Body of Christ. This is why it is essential for Christians everywhere, whether blessed with much or little, to be involved in both local evangelism and global missions. Christians learn so much when exposed to the life, circumstances, and experiences of other brothers and sisters from another culture. Partnering with the Diocese of The Arctic is no exception.

Faithful leaders from Kuujuarapik in the south to Grise Fiord in the north, from Fort McPherson in the west to Kangiqsualujjuaq in the east benefit from seeing and experiencing thriving, growing churches in other places, especially as we navigate the quickly-changing dynamics that the internet has brought to our communities.

And whether it’s a training program, a building team, or a summer VBS team, the faithful people from your local church will be blown away by the hospitality and hunger for the good news among Arctic Anglicans (and don’t forget the natural wonder of God’s creation!).

Decades ago, when God was blessing the Anglican Church of Canada in the south, they supported
the church in the North in a big way through a group called The Council of The North. But, at this
point, even the national church’s news paper, The Anglican Journal, is predicting that the national
church will be “out of business” by 2040 – though we know from scripture and church history that God preserves a faithful remnant. As they wander from scripture and God removes His blessing from them, we can no longer count on the financial support of the Anglican Church of Canada as a long-term plan.

We’re not living in fear. We know it’s not about the money! As Bishop Lucy Netser reminded us: “God owns all the silver and the gold, and He owns all the cattle on a thousand hills”, so we know He’ll provide all we need.

What we need, though, are faithful partners. Prayerful partners. Partners who aren’t ashamed of the Gospel. Partners who share our mission to Proclaim and Enable, as we train Northerners for ministry in the North… and beyond! Partner with us. If you’re committing to pray for us in your weekly home bible study, let us know. If you’d like to send a team to fix up a run-down mission house so we can send a minister into a community, give us a call. If you’d like one of our clergy or leaders to visit and speak to your church, we’d be more than happy! God is doing a mighty work – let’s work together for His Glory!
