Bishops on the Move!

Since being elected in May of 2025, Bishop Alexander Pryor and Suffragan Bishops Annie Ittoshat, Ann Martha Keenianak, and Jared Osborn have maintained a full schedule of parish visits alongside representing the diocese to the wider church. Pond Inlet meets Burlington! ShareWord Global facilitates learning for youth ministers

Flipflops in the Snow

By the Rev. Charlotte (Charley) Maidment, Summer Intern in Iqaluit (2025) It was just above freezing. Rain was coming down, but the sun was trying to poke its face through. I stood at what felt like the edge of the world. We were in a graveyard overlooking the frozen Arctic Sea. A family—a young teenage couple with their parents and grandparents—stood around a grave as … Continue reading Flipflops in the Snow

Challenged by the Courage of Orthodox Jews

By the Rev. Aaron Solberg, Rector of Fort Smith, NWT Before each meal, no matter how large or small, my wife Isabelle and I take a moment to say the Grace and make the sign of the cross. Even though this has become a habit for us, there are moments it is awkward or even uncomfortable. Some time ago, we found ourselves waiting for a … Continue reading Challenged by the Courage of Orthodox Jews

Traveling is not something you take on lightly – or quickly – in the North. It’s never a “simple” ride down a highway like in the South. Although Rankin or Chesterfield Inlet are only a short plane trip away from Baker Lake, it still comes out to be a day’s journey. In Baker Lake there are roads, of course, but none of them lead far … Continue reading Parish Ministry extends to the Mines of the Kivalliq
