Called to be Good Stewards

2021 Audited Statements show smaller defecit than budgeted

While 2021 was certainly hard on churches with extended closures and fewer opportunities for giving, God has blessed us richly as we work together to be good stewards, focusing our spending on growing the Kingdom and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. We had projected a defecit of just over $270,000, but, by grace and with groundbreaking support from donors who want to support ministry in the North, we ended last year with a shortfall of $173,655. While still significant, we boldly remind ourselves that money is just a tool in our toolbox. In the words of Bishop Lucy Netser to her fellow bishops, “God owns all the silver and the gold. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills… so He can give us whatever we need”. By faith, we plan for the ministries needed across the diocese, and trust that, if it’s His will and if we’re being faithful with what we’re given, God will provide.

Many ask where the money sent to the diocese goes. In 2021, the Diocese spent $3,021,984 as seen on the chart to the left. Praise God, the vast majority is spend on actual ministries, providing clergy and resources across the North!
