“God will provide all that we need” is a daily refrain in the Synod Office of the Diocese of The Arctic. Big plans. Big challenges. The most spread-out diocese in the world, with most churches only accessible by planes travelling into small airports dotting the Arctic coast. “By any human reasoning, we shouldn’t be able to afford to do the work God gave us to do” says Bishop David Parsons. But, as Suffragan Bishop Lucy Netser has pointed out “Our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and all the silver and the gold in the world… so we’re not asking for much!” In response to the new expansion of the Arthur Turner Training School, the St. John’s Legacy Foundation has given a matching grant of $15,775 to allow us to expand even further and faster. This money matches the generous donations from so many faithful readers and their congregations or fellowship groups who have partnered with the Diocese so that we can “train Northerners for ministry in the North” – all part of our mission to proclaim the gospel and equip Christians for service, and all to the glory of God!
