Clergy Moves

The Rev. Esau Tatatoapik has moved to the parish of Puvirnituq and takes up the role of Regional Dean for the Hudson Coast. The Rev. Enid Pow has returned to England due to the declining health of her parents. Pray for the Rev. Eimsook Joung to be restored to full health for ministry. Pray for God to raise up more ministers, and to bless our training and recruitment efforts. Besides the four Bishops and the Archdeacon, we have just 12 full-time ministers.

The Rev. Bobby Nakoolak is in good spirits as he awaits a place in the elders home in Kuujjuaq

Baptisms in Quaqtaq

Bishop Annie made a February trip to Quaqtaq which included celebrating baptism, installing a new Vestry commitee, and visiting with the Rev. Bobby Nakoolak (retired and waiting for room at the elders’ home in Kuujjuaq).

Bishop Joey Royal returns to Yellowknife

As part of the restructing and growth of ATTS, bishop Joey, Jenn, and their son Ben have returned to Yellowknife. He will serve as half-time rector of Holy Trinity while remaining the Principal of ATTS in it’s new hybrid distance model of education. This plan allows growth in two directions: the Rev. Ann Martha Keenainak (currently in Pangnirtung) will move to Iqaluit to take up the “other half” of the ATTS instructor’s position, and will be a muchneeded half-time assistant for the Cathedral. A bilingual instructor for ATTS will be a great step forward. Holy Trinity Yellowknife will use this season with a half-time rector to strengthen their core of lay leaders and deacons-in-training as they take on a bigger load of the ministry, while also saving for the upcoming day when Holy Trinity will need a second mission house for another fulltime clergy position. Growth all around!

  1. My dad Bobby nakoolak has passed on June 8, 2023. He really loved what he was doing and proud and gave everything with the church. He was a humbled, loving, caring man. Thank you for being part of his life.
    May he rest in paradise
